We often travel these waters unaware of the wonderful secrets they hide: the Ligurian Sea is part of an international cetacean sanctuary (the Pelagos Sanctuary). It is the perfect habitat and home to as many as seven different cetacean species. Observing these animals is not easy, and an expert eye and specialised knowledge of their behaviour is essential. Sperm whales, for instance, feed mostly on the continental slope, while fin whales are mostly encountered in pelagic waters. The extensive experience of our biologists raises substantially the chances of an encounter with whales and dolphins. During our tours it is easy to also observe other interesting marine animals such as turtles, manta rays, swordfish, tunas, sunfish, various marine birds, jellyfish: an explosion of lifeforms we can help you get to know and learn to recognize by supplying you with one of our biologists, who will board your own boat, whether you’re planning a one-day outing or a longer trip.
